This policy explains how Acquire.website handles personal information when you browse, create an account or publish a listing.
1. Who handles your information
The operator of Acquire.website handles information needed to run this marketplace. Contact support@acquire.website with privacy questions or requests, including access, correction, deletion and objections to processing.
2. Information we collect
Account information includes your name, email address, password hash, verification status and email preferences. We store session and security records, listing drafts, conversation messages, uploaded files, seller profiles and contact methods, monthly figures, reactions, saved listings and support correspondence. Guest submissions use a temporary browser session. Membership records include plan status, subscription/customer identifiers, paid-period end and selected notification channel. Payment records can include the payer email, order and checkout references, amount and payment status received from Creem; full card details are handled by the payment provider.
3. Browsing and security information
We process request information to provide pages, protect accounts, enforce quotas and prevent abuse. The application uses hashed visitor and IP-derived identifiers for view counting, rate limits and AI quotas rather than storing raw IP addresses in its database. Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses and request logs under their own policies. We also record account and listing activity needed for administration and security.
4. Why we use it
We use information to provide and secure accounts and guest drafts, publish and manage listings, manage Buyer Pro subscriptions and historical payment records, deliver essential account messages, respond to support and ownership reports, moderate content, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. Depending on the processing and applicable law, our basis is performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating a safe service, legal obligations or your consent. Optional recommendation emails rely on your opt-in.
5. What becomes public
Published listing details, seller names and biographies, chosen contact methods, profile links, business figures and published images are public. They can appear in search engines, social previews and recommendations. Drafts, account credentials, private conversations and payment email addresses are not public listing fields. Sold and delisted pages can remain accessible with their status. Think carefully before adding personal or confidential information to a public listing or image.
6. Service providers and sharing
We use Cloudflare for hosting, database, storage and security; Creem for paid checkout; Resend for transactional email; and Amazon SES for optional email recommendations. When AI review or screenshot reading is used, the relevant bounded listing text or selected image is sent to OpenAI for that purpose. We do not send every chat message to a model. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to investigate abuse or protect rights. We do not sell personal information.
7. External websites and sharing
Seller websites, profile links and payment pages have their own privacy policies. Contact seller links open your email application or a third-party website. Choosing to share a listing on a social platform is subject to that platform’s policies. Connecting an optional social publishing account allows the requested publication activity and stores the credentials needed for that connection.
8. Cookies and browser storage
A session cookie keeps you signed in and links a guest browser to its drafts. Browser storage remembers settings such as theme, catalogue filter preferences and a visitor identifier used for reactions or views. You can clear these in your browser; clearing a guest session can remove your access to its drafts. We do not use these settings for cross-site advertising.
9. Email and measurement
Essential messages cover verification, password recovery, security and publication support. Weekly recommendation emails are optional; unsubscribe using the email link or account preferences. We record delivery status and may measure email opens with a small tracking image to understand delivery and engagement. Mail clients can block remote images. Unsubscribing from recommendations does not prevent necessary account or service messages.
10. Retention and security
We retain account and listing information while needed to operate the service, and payment, moderation and security records as needed for legal obligations, fraud prevention and disputes. Session and verification tokens expire; daily view identifiers are removed by scheduled cleanup after about 35 days. Account deletion removes the account and clears its listing contact/profile fields; related records or uploaded files may remain where needed for service operation, legal duties or security. Contact us to request further erasure. We restrict access and use password hashing and protected sessions, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
11. International processing
Our service providers may process data outside your country. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on the relevant provider’s contractual and legal safeguards. Contact us for information about the providers involved in your request.
12. Your choices and rights
You can update account details and email preferences, delist a business and delete your account through account settings. Depending on your location, you may also request access, correction, erasure, portability or restriction, object to certain processing, withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing, and complain to your local data protection authority. Email support@acquire.website; we may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing data.
13. Children and changes
The marketplace is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We may update this policy; the date above shows the current version, and we will communicate material changes where required by law.
